Piney accidentally made a country album with some friends, when she was asked to support a British Americana band at a working men's club in London; she thought it would be fun to do country covers of her debut album and write a few new songs too... Cue playing the Park Stage at Glastonbury, 2 trips to SXSW in Austin Texas and a 5 star review in the Guardian... Goes to show you can take the girl outta Kansas but you can't take the Kansas out of the girl!

What an album - Blood's an apt name, each track is *dripping* with dark, louche noir-spattered glamour. The sultry torch song vocals and ice-pick-sharp lyrics are some of Coates & friends' best work.
